Bloc is a social events app that rewards people for attending venues and connects people before events. Here’s our main features:

6. Exploring venues & events locally or in a particular area

Every single venue in the world is on Bloc (if they have Google My Business).
Checking in is easy, you can check-in yourself by tapping the ‘+’ icon in your tab bar and finding ‘Check-in’.
Or you can check-in via someone elses check-in e.g. from your newsfeed.
When you check-in to a venue and you’re physically there, you can tap ‘I’M HERE’. We will do a location check and if we see you’re in the venue you will earn BLOCS.
You can also earn BLOCS by inviting friends to Bloc, creating a Moment and uploading a Bite.
BLOCS can be spent on our rewards marketplace - Bloc Rewards.
We have a rewards marketplace which can be accessed via the app. In the tab bar (bottom menu) find the shopping bag icon. Tap this and it will take you to our rewards marketplace.
Rewards include restaurant vouchers, experiences and physical items like bags and watches.
You will need to collect BLOCS in the app or you can purchase them via our store.
When you check-in to a venue & physically go, you’re able to create a Moment. Tap the ‘+’ icon in your tab bar and select Moment.
A Moment is a photo or video that takes a selfie and then an external shot. It will upload to your newsfeed for your friends to see.
If you successfully upload a Moment you will earn 3 BLOCS.
A Bite is a short-form video on Bloc that you can upload. If you upload a Bite you will receive 3 BLOCS.
You can either upload a Bite for free if it’s linked to a venue you’ve visited or you can spend 10 BLOCS to upload a Bite at any time.
We have a whole section of the app called ‘Explore’ which is dedicated to making it easy for finding the most popular venues & events locally or in an area you search for.
It’s also the place you can go to connect with other people for making new friends, dating and even for making business connections.
On Bloc you can connect & chat inside the app before and during an event.
You can only connect with people & chat if you’re checked into the same event. You also need to mutually connect before you are put into a conversation.
There are two ways of connecting with someone. You can send an anonymous + to someone. They won’t know it’s you who sent it, but if they send one back then you will connect. You can also favourite someone (send a 
). This will cost you 1 BLOC & they will receive it. They will be notified it was you who sent it to them and they can decide whether to accept or reject your request to connect.
Once you have mutually connected, you can chat inside Bloc.
